This is a lyric that is likely making many of your realize my age or generation at least! Honestly, I truly enjoy each year and life more with each year I’m blessed to live. Speaking of living, the new coronavirus, Covid 19, is freaking everyone out these days. I learned from a client last week of the toilet paper crisis associated with the virus. I also hear about it from an anxiety perspective from others. Therefore, let me encourage you this week with the following:
1-When it is your time to go, it’s your time to go. This may seem grim, but actually it is meant to remind you that God has appointed you a time to live and a time to die (Hebrews 9:27; Ecclesiastes 3:2) We live in a fallen world with school shootings, poverty, and the Covid-19, etc. However, God is still sovereign. Although none of the things mentioned were a part of God’s plan, He is still in control and he gave you life and he is the only one who can allow death to happen to you (which it will at some point.). So for now, focus on living! PS Many countries I’ve been to including China don’t really use toilet paper…
2-While living, it is ok to be safe while not overcorrecting and being obsessively protective. God doesn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Tim 1:7) Use your super power and might and sound mind as you wash your hands, listen to safety warnings in your area, etc. but if you are required to stay home for a bit, enjoy your home, enjoy your family. Be still and focus on the blessings that come from things shutting down.
3-Focus on being healthy! (1 Cor 619). Personally, I believe the US at least is at risk for Covid-19 mostly because we are for the most part a very unhealthy nation! Therefore, live by eating healthy (Whole food that God created, not processed stuff), and exercise so you are prepared for the battles that may come included coronaviruses.
4-Pray for the weak including the elderly. (1 Tim 5:8).
5-Use this time to remember how precious life truly is and how you need to make each moment count! If someone were to write your obituary today, would you be pleased or more importantly, would God? PS, there is a cool story about how the Nobel Peace Prize was started for this very reason…google it!
Live fearlessly today!
